ROCK LOTTO Frequently Asked Questions
Do I already need to be in a band to enter Rock Lotto? It doesnt matter if
you’ve been playing in a band for years or if you’ve never played outside
your bedroom before. Rock Lotto is about getting musicians of all kinds
together for an empowering experience.
What are the musical requirements of Rock Lotto? All we ask of you is that
you are willing to play an instrument for a month. It helps if youve
picked the instrument up before (or own one) but NOT NECESSARY! We will
not be able to provide you with an instrument to take home but we will try
to have the instrument/equipment you need at your practice space. Come on,
you know you wanna try it!
Where are we going to rehearse?! Rock Lotto will try hard to provide the
bands a practice space. We will try and make sure all bands contain
members of current bands so a practice space (or two) should be available.
Can I just mail/email/fax/etc you my contact info? No. Every person who
desires to participate in the Rock Lotto must be in attendance at the
drawing. This is to make sure that people commit to the project, as well
as help the newly formed bands figure out logistical concerns (practice
days/times/spaces).
Plus, there will be entertainment before and after the drawing, so come
out and support the cause!
When does the second half take place? The exact date will be announced at
the drawing.
Why only women? This time around we are inviting women only to
participate– just an attempt to bring women together in a positive and
creative way. But that doesnt mean we dont need the support of men in
other ways (instruments, equipment, etc.) If this goes well there may be
more ROCK LOTTOs in the future! Thanks for your support!
